Higher view

Here I am on the second story looking out towards our road. Today working on getting the siding up and preparing for the trusses. Sounds like there will be some bad weather coming his weekend. :-(

Walls

Last night when I came from rehearsal (I'm in a couple skits) I found several men just working on my house and helping Travis out. I was so overcome with humility and gratitude, tears came. Here's 2 walls up. 2 more tonight.

Second story in progress!

I asked Travis to get the floor ready so I could dance on it. So he did! It's solid and they're now working on putting together the walls! :-)

Update on the house

Here's the latest. But there is no more siding on the house and the big pile of wood is almost gone. :-D

Construction!!

My house is in shambles people! But that's a good thing when you're adding onto your house. Just imagine trying to keep your children from getting into things that are within inches of them, no barrier, 24/7.  Don't forget that just outside, the ground is covered with boards littered with nails waiting to be stepped on. Not to mention temps are reaching below freezing and we have NO insulation because our roof is being torn off as we speak! That's right, we have an awesome sunroof. This is my life right now. :-)
But only for a short time. Because pretty soon the trusses will be up, we'll be closed in, and work on the inside will begin. Then we'll be that much closer with an actual visual of what it will be like.
Can I tell you how surreal this feels?! I've been dreaming and waiting patiently for 10 long years now, for a larger, no, just a descent sized home! This is incredibly amazing to be here now. To see Travis working his BUTT off to make this happen. In fact, I better go, cuz I'm supposed to be clearing out the attic... See ya later! More updates to come!

Geocaching!

First time geocaching was a hit! Though it didn't start out that way. After several "hangouts" with Dad, we found the cache in the trees near by. We drove just 3 miles from the house to a boat launch site by the river, got out and began using the compass on the c:Geo app. I looked at the coordinates and thought I had to match them up somehow. It took us into the woods, mud, prickly plants and water everywhere. I don't know what I was doing, but could see that was NOT mild terrain! Lol. So Dad said to just follow the arrow on the compass (too easy) and it led us to the cache. Yay!

The kids were sooo excited! They loved it. Each of them wanted to take something, it was a bit difficult to convince them otherwise. But I did. Then Tracker lost the stinking prize down the stream. 30 min of looking later, we decided to leave yet another item, to be able to take another item. Lol.  We will definitely be doing this again. It really was an adventure.
