Pancakes and Rainbows

Ok, this may seem silly to put on our blog, but Jacob and I wanted to share with you a fun way we make pancakes now. The kids love it, and it's easy to make the shapes. You just put a small portion of the batter into a refillable ketchup container. You know, the kind you see for picnicks. Make the shapes you want and let them sit for a few seconds so they will be a different shade from the rest of the pancake. Pour the batter over the shapes and then cook as usual. The kids like when we do letters for their names also.

When you finish with all the batter in the mixing bowl there is usually a little left over in the ketchup bottle, so then I make shapes and fill in the outline. They make fun little silver dollar size pancakes, and they cook super fast.

It's rained a lot here, but this is one of the only rainbows we've seen. The sun is finally starting to make an apperance again.

The boys. Oh, and that's Bekah on her bike in the background.

Here is a funny one of the girls posing.

I love the pancake idea. Pancajes are a staple at our house. My kids will love that. What a perfect picture of Simeon and the rainbow. You always take the best pictures Tiff.
