Church Halloween Party (Tues)

Here is a picture of the group that went to the Church party from our house hold. Henry-Dead Dr., Me-Dead Dr. assistant. I'm not sure what Otavio was because he ended up adding a cape to that costume. Sam-super man and Gramma-witch.
I was so glad Henry really got into it this year. He even painted his arms white to make him look extra ghostly!

Samuel eating his first piece of candy for the evening. He was so excited to get this succor he had me open it on the spot. Than he realized he could get more candy! He would not stop running around all evening! I was so tired afterward. Our ward does this cake walk thing. Tons of people bring cakes or desserts. Whoevers incharge sets up numbers in a circle on the floor. They call up different age groups to stand on the numbers, than you walk in a circle while they play music. When the music stops the people stop. than they call out a number and whoever is on that number wins a cake of their choosing. Henry, Guacy, and Helen all won once. It was Great. I think Guacy was really happy when she won.

This is a picture of Sam and me before we left to the party. He is so cute!

Bed Buddies

We were given a set of bunk beds from a friend. Yeah! Now Joseph has a "big boy bed." Actually he gets the whole bunk bed to himself. They use the top for a fort. There are only two beds in the girls' room. We took their bunk beds apart since they kept taking the ladder off and were using it to climb everything. Elizabeth always sleeps with either Rebekah or Sariah. Lately we've been finding all the girls together in one bed. Super cute!

Lowell kids Primary Program

Our Primary program was today. Gramma Jody and Grampa Mark called yesterday and told us they were going to come and watch the program. Each of our kids had a small line but they really weren't encouraged to memorize them. I think even if we had, had them memorize it their teacher would have whispered it in their ear. Oh, well, it was still really cute. Eliza , we found out, is the tallest and has the clearest speaking voice in her class, however she would not sing even the songs I knew she knew. It makes sense though because she's in the Parley strand and that is what Parley did when he was a sunbeam. This time Parley was singing his heart out standing way back in the back row. Emma was in the back on the other side but moved forward when she was part of a small group of some of the older kids singing the second verse of "I am a Builder" Lucy stood right in front and sang all the words with a big smile on her face. Vilate could see her so well and during one of the songs she walked over to the end of our row and said something to Gary. He couldn't understand her until she sneaked past him. He realized she was saying, "I want to sing." So she marched up to stand next to Lucy and sing. She didn't really sing but she got to be part of it. After the song finished she came and sat back down. It was cute. Sacrament meeting went so fast! I wish every Sunday was the Primary Program! :)

Brotherly Kindness

So amoung other things, we've finally returned home from our super long trip. The first week we were back, the boys would ask me if we were spending the night at "so & so's" house when we'd go visit someone.
Also when we first arrived home the boys went straight to their room. Tustin looked all around and kept saying, this is my room, these are my things! Travis & I looked at him and he had tears in his eyes. He was so overjoyed to be home again!!
Anywho, I've been able to keep the house fairly clean and in good condition on a regular basis... until today that is.
So I got ambitious, or annoyed, rather. And made ties for our rocking chair cushion in the space of about 3 hours. That's really good for me. I am so proud of myself. I just got tired of having to constantly replace the cushion or set it just right. I challenged Tustin (the cushion displacer culprit) to "pomp it off now" So he got up there and did his little trick and nothing happened!! He was suprised.
Here's the special service the boys did for Tracker. He was ready to go outside so Trayton ran over and got his coat off the hook and proceeded in putting Tracker's coat on him. Right there he's pulling his hands out of his sleeve. I was so proud to be a mother @ that moment.

Then Tustin offered to zip the coat.

Doing the other sleeve.

This is a caribou, something we don't ever see in town. I was driving, just a couple blocks from home and saw this caribou running down the road!! I had to stop and get a picture. This is only the second time I've seen a caribou.

We also had our primary program today. It went really well, except that Trayton sat next to the only person we asked him not to. His friend Zander is just as rambunxious as Trayton. But they seem to have matured from last year's experience. ;) I was afraid we had missed our primary program while traveling, but Trayton was able to memorized his part in a day and practiced a lot of the songs. It was so fun to see him perform well. Tustin is anxious to be a part of it next year, he's still in nursery.
Love you All!!!

Primary Program

Today was the Primary program for our ward. We memorized lines this week and had all the kids clean and on time to church. Yeah! Everyone came out of class happy. Yeah! We made it through most of sacrament with no fuss. Yeah! But it never fails...anytime Rebekah is supposed to go on the stand for any reason she gets upset. Jacob and I have talked about this many times. We talked about it last night hoping today would be the day she managed to cheerfully submit to getting up there and participate happily. It so did not happen. Today it was because Joseph kicked her in the mouth. Somehow he manged to accidentally kick her in the mouth while they were both sitting next to each other facing the front and both of them were fairly reverent. Up till that moment she was happy to go up there and do her part and sing. Sigh...I just hope by the time she is in young womens we will have gotten one good performance out of her. She did say her lines, but she wouldn't stand up for the songs, and she wouldn't sing even though she knows all the songs. Oh well. Sariah and Joseph on the other hand had a blast. Sariah was singing so loud she had her teacher cracking up on the stand and Joseph sang along even though he didn't know much of the songs. He looked like something out of a foreign film where the mouth is moving, but it's just not matching up with the words. He was singing something, but it sure wasn't what everyone else was singing. Man, I love our kids! They make life so fun! Hope you guys are having an awesome Primary program like ours!

Lovely day

Can I just tell you how bad today is? It started yesterday when I sliced open my finger with a rotary cutter while making Bekah's tutu for Halloween. It was a dull blade. Jacob was nice enough to remind me that it's usually when the blade is dull that people cut themselves. Then this morning it was a huge fiasco to get Bekah and Riah out the door in time for their dentist appointments. We left just on time only to realize I was completely out of gas and the drive is 40 minutes long. It takes at least 15 minutes to fill my car. So we get to the dentist and all is going well. We didn't have to wait very long. Yea! They take the girls back and come get me a few minutes later. Rebekah had a fit when she had to have the x-rays. She was scared because the first one hurt a little. We convinced her to get two more, and then she wouldn't do anymore. She was terrified that the others were going to hurt, and we had two left. They put her on nitrosoxide (no idea how to spell that), which my insurance doesn't pay for, and she still refused to open her mouth. She was hysterical and not going to calm down. So, she has to go back to get more done. She has cavities to be filled and since she was freaked out this time they are going to give her a sedative next time which cost $98, which of course my insurance doesn't cover. Not only that, she'll have to do it twice. We get to pay over $400 out of pocket once it's all said and done in December. Lovely. At least I really like the dentist and her assistants. They were super nice and patient with Bekah. We get home and it turns out that Simeon found a kool-aid packet and went to town. He got it all over himself, the carpet (which I just cleaned on Tuesday) and the new diaper cover that I just bought after looking for two months to find it in stock. It was red kool-aid. It was totally not my neighbors fault by the way. We can blame that one on Joseph who likes to horde food behind the couch and under the table. Evidently Jacob did the same thing with Jello packets for a while. So I found out that ammonia, water, white towels and a hot iron will take red kool-aid out of the carpet. Things you never know until you're a parent right?! At least Bekah's tutu turned out great. 14 yards of tulle will make any little girl happy right? It looks great with her leotard, so it's all worth it in the end I guess.

Simeon's birthday party

Here's the birthday boy in his birthday outfit. He got to wear it twice that day. I put him in it during the morning and then put him down for his morning nap. When he woke up he entertained himself by playing with a dirty diaper that was left on the changing table next to his bed, so I got to wash the shirt and he got to wear it twice! Fun right?

These are our kids friends that live next to us, and I'm friends with their moms. A day and a half before Simeon's birthday it was so hot the kids didn't want to play outside, and all day Friday it got colder and colder. Yea! Oh, and everyone was cold and wearing jackets, hats and gloves, but there is Sariah with shorts and a t-shirt on. She didn't get cold until really late that evening long after dark. She gets that from my parents. My mom wore shorts year round even when it was freezing. I doubt she owned more than one pair of pants.

My boys
My totally awesome neighbor and friend watched my kids so I could go shopping, and when I got back she offered to make the cake for the party since I was feeling cruddy, and I was behind with things. (Thank's Christy!)

She even made a little cake just for Simeon. How cool is that?! Aren't friends great!

Pretty much all Simeon did was poke the cake and then lick his finger. I've never had a kid that didn't chow down on cake when they got the opportunity. Simeon is always doing things differently than the other kids have. It makes things fun!

And here is the birthday song. We had a BBQ outside after dark, so it was hard to see when I did the video. Just pretend you can see better than you can. At least you can see a little bit since we had a fire going.

Simi-mimi's day

My baby is 1! How did that happen? BBQ today with some friends to celebrate, woohoo! Hopefully it will clear up some since it's raining right now. Here's the cute birthday shirt I made yesterday for him and a matching birthday hat. Happy Birthday Simeon!

September 2009

Kathy's 11th birthday was this last weekend. Guacy gave her a make over and Teresa bought her a new dress. I think she actually looks like a princess. I had to put these pictures on here so you could all see how much she as grown up!
Her hair is really long when it is straight!

As you might remember Henry and my anniversary is a couple days after Kathy's birthday. Here are a few pictures we took. Henry took me to the LA temple during the day(sorry no pics). It was beautiful. I only wish I hadn't tripped coming down the stairs on my way out!!

I had to add Sam to the picture.

The sound isn't working on my computer right now. But I am pretty sure Samuel start singing along with me, for a solo/duet version of happy birthday.

We were singing happy birthday to Kathy and as we got to the middle of the song Samuel started trying to blow out the candles. It's really cute, but at the same time I am glad he was to short to actually blow the candle out.

Ozark Firestation #3

We had lots of fun yesterday at the firestation in Ozark close to where we go to church. A friend set it up for a few of us to go, and we all invited lots of other people, so we had quite a crowd there. They got to talk to the firemen in the classroom and see a fireman with his outfit on. They got to look at all the fire engines and get in them, play with the hose, go in the mobile home that simulates a house on fire they take to the elementary schools for demonstrations, and they got a tour of the fire station. All in all, it was a fun day!

Joseph got to turn the engine off

Sitting on the front of the truck
The boy in the green shirt is a neighbor of ours

Joseph was one very happy boy while we were there

Just cute!

And more cuteness

They all got a chance to hold the hose and aim at the trees

Lizzie is the only one who thought it was loud when they put the ladder on the top of the truck up. The rest of the kids all stood there with their mouths open.

Sariah getting wet from the hose. They let the kids change how the water came out and then shut it off when they were all done.

My sweet big sisters. I just love Bekah's hair short like this

Simeon was fascinated by the fireman when he put on his outfit. He stared at him the whole time until he took everything off, and it lasted for a while.

Watching the ladder come up

I love how the kids in this one are so excited to see the ladder go up
