Breakfast and music

There are three main types of music stations here...religious, country, and oldies. We listen to the oldies a lot. It's what my parents listened to a lot when I was growing up, and my kids like it. So when Jacob isn't home for breakfast we listen to the music pretty loud and party at breakfast time!

Yet more Caroline

I was trying to gather up all of the pictures everyone took of Caroline and I found these

More Caroline

It was so great, while I was resting up from having Caroline both Grandparents posted pictures in the hospital of baby Caroline on our family sites. Here are some more though. Also for those who can: we are planning on blessing Caroline on Oct. 11th and also celebrating Lucy's b-day after church. So all are welcome to come have some cake with us!

Ahhhh!!!!!

'What else can I say except Ahhhhh!!!! Out of the blue Rebekah asked to have her hair cut short. I about had a heart attack! I asked her all day if she was really sure that she really wanted to do this, and I made sure she realized she would no longer be able to do braids and ponytails, but she was sure she wanted to. I like it a lot, and she looks really cute with her short hairdo. She loves is so much. She is able to wash and brush her own hair now which she couldn't before because it was so long and thick. We were going to donate it to locks of love, but I had it on the counter drying for two days since it has to be dry to send in, and it still wasn't dry so I left it out longer. Cute little Joseph got to it and pulled the ponytail apart. It has to be neat and tied together to send in, so now I have to decided if I really want to straighten all that hair out and put it back in a neat ponytail. Grrr...Joseph...It's partly my fault though. I should have found a higher place to leave it until it was dry. Oh well. Live and learn right?

Pics for Aunt Mary

Here are some pictures for Aunt Mary. We thought of you the night we ate this dinner. Our friend's dad barbecued ribs for her daughter's first birthday, and evidently he cooks way too much food all the time. She brought back enough ribs for us all to have them for dinner and enough for her family also. They were so good, and the kids loved them! Especially Sariah. She ate hers until there were only little white bones left.

Everlasting Covenant

Everlasting Covenant

Verse-1
As we now begin life’s journey
We are walking hand in hand
We have found life’s point of turning
Looking for our promised land

Verse-2
We’ve received God’s endless sealing
A Pearl of Great Price
It provides a wondrous feeling
Nothing else could quite suffice

CHORUS
The world is missing so much
Of this glorious beautiful plan
Oh Lord please help us to strive hard
To help them understand

Verse-3
That thy greatest gift we might gain
We will work and watch and pray
That our goal we might attain
Thy word we will obey

Verse-4
As our Father sends us spirits
From His presence up above
We’ll teach them of the good things
And we’ll always give them love.

(Sing Chorus)

Verse-5
As our children grow and progress
And questions fill their eyes
We’ll teach them of the purpose
That they may know the whys

Verse-6
When their turning points arrive
We will see what we’ve received
From each child as they’ve matured
For in God they have believed

(Sing Chorus)

Happenings in Cali continued

I don't know how to transfer more than 4 pix from Picasa, so I had to do 2 seperate posts.
Here's the cute picture of Mary & Emma after the camera episode.
This is really disgusting, & I feel like throwing up everytime I look at this. But it needs to be documented that Tustin got a super bad sunburn, and must now join Emma in always wearing a shirt when out in the California sun. Yuck.
Trayton & Tustin have been enjoying the freedom of swimming by themselves using their floaties. We've been going to Rachel's pool and swimming w/Samuel. So fun!

Happenings in California

So, here's what's been going on w/the Kellers in California.
Tustin is helping Grampa fix the unfixable jacuzzi. He is such a helper
Tracker is eating a ton more food than his 2 brothers combined. Spaghetti, of course.
We visited the Lowells and while there, I got some stinking cute pictures of the Lowells!!

My new best friends

So, this post is kind of silly, but I've discovered lots of new cleaning friends lately. We had another crayon incident in the dryer again. Grrrr. A whole load of clothes covered in blue and the dryer was a pretty blue also. I searched around on the internet and found two things that really, really work for removing crayon out of the dryer and out of clothes. Here they are:

Mix all these together and they will remove crayon that has been melted onto clothes! How cool is that?! Here's the recipe: 2 maximum doses of Tide, 1 cup liquid oxyclean ( I used two scoops of powder, but I think you could use less), 1/2 cup borax, 1 cup liquid shout, 1 cup white vinegar. As weird as it seems, it really works. Put it all in the wash with the hottest water setting your clothes can handle and agitate for five minutes then let soak overnight. It got almost everything out, so I soaked it again for another night and everything but two tiny spots on a towel came out. In the morning the wash water was so blue you couldn't see the clothes in it. It seems a little expensive to buy all this stuff if you don't have it, but it's much less expensive than throwing out an entire load of clothes and buying new ones. The next picture is bar keepers friend. This stuff removed all of the crayon out of the dryer with only a tiny bit of scrubbing involved. And when you use it on stainless steal it's awesome. It makes your sink so shiny without all the elbow grease it usually would take. It comes in powder form too and is pretty cheap that way. Haven't tried the powder yet though. I love a shiny sink!

This nifty little guy is my new steam mop. They are kind of expensive, but I'm in love with this thing. I don't have to use any soap (which is great if you have hardwood floors) It cleans really well, and my floors are dry in about two minutes. The floors here are terrible and they don't come clean. I scrubbed my kitchen for two hours one day on my hands and knees with tons of cleaner and got really frustrated, so I bought this mop. In ten minutes I cleaned the rest of the floors in the house and they looked better than the kitchen that I had scrubbed for two hours. Oh, and when the kids splash water all over the tiles in the bathroom during bath time I don't have to clean it up with towels any more. This thing dries it all right up in no time and my floors get cleaned at the same time! Yea!
