Baby Aaron is here!

Moose in the Neighborhood

On the way home from getting John's hard cast put on I found these guys. They have been hanging around the neighborhood lately, so they must live close by.

Here is the cute "little" guy. Even though he's still just a baby really, he is huge.

Here is the Momma on the other side of the trees snacking on some twigs.

Moose really are shy. She didn't like me following them in the car even though I was quite a ways away. She kept flipping her ears between me and the dogs that were barking down the street and kept her baby moving away.

Over the bank and on the way into the neighborhood!

Here is one just for perspective. This is my friends Yukon XL. The moose is right up next to it, and with her head down she is the same height as the car. It really is amazing how big they get.

And here is one of them in the yard next to our house. Ours' is the first one on the end of the row.

John fell and broke his arm on Saturday night. Look how cute that boy is! Even with the cast on he is as happy as can be. We took him in Sunday morning since his arm was still bugging him. The doctors really weren't sure anything was even wrong since he was using his arm and was so happy and calm about it. She bent his arm back and forth and moved it all around, but it wasn't until she squeezed it that he started saying Ow, ow, ow! X-rays were AWFUL, and I don't think he will ever want to be near that man again. I felt so bad for the technician. He goes to get a hard cast this week as soon as some of the swelling goes down.

Jacob had a birthday. We had cake with our friends the Brooks to celebrate.

John, of course, loved the cake.

And here is the cake. It was a very last minute job. The candy is a 32 and the kids picked out three and two candles for Papa. I don't have 32 candles on hand! Hope everyone is getting ready for Valentines Day tomorrow. Love you guys!

Yukon Quest

We went to the start of the Yukon Quest on Saturday morning. It was -15 when we went, and it was 20 today. That's 70 degrees warmer than it was about a week ago!

Here's Simeon all bundled up waiting for the race to start.

Here's one of the mushers coming. It's the longest dog sled race in the world. It is 1000 miles long from Fairbanks to Whitehorse, Yukon Canada. LONG and COLD!

Uncle Ezra. He has his own gaiter...his beard. It's frozen :)

And here's Lizzie. She has pretty eyes. :)
