So, here we are in Texas. It's been fun. The weather here is crazy, but I guess that makes it fun. It snowed at Thanksgiving, but yesterday it was nearly 80 degrees. Today it was in the 50's. Every day is a surprise! Jacob is loving his job. He loves flying, and he is doing well with teaching. Right now he is the ground school instructor. Sometime in the spring he will be switching to CFI. That's a certified flight instructor. He does get to fly now, but not as much as he wants to. The kids are doing well. Rebekah still talks about missing California sometimes, but she is happy here. She is making lots of new friends. Sariah just started Sunbeams on Sunday. Hooray for the big girl. I made her a scripture case to take starting this last Sunday. She was so excited to be a big girl like Rebekah with her very own scripture case. Joseph is finally happy at nursery. It was hard for him for the first few months we were here. Since he was never with anyone but family in California it was hard to get use to strangers here. He is talking up a storm now. He loves helicopters. He was able to go up in one a few months ago. He loved it, but was a little scared while we were flying...grinning the whole time, but unable to move he was so tense! He also loves cars, boats and trains. He loves to hear the trains during the day. We live in a major train area. There are tracks both east and west of us. He's definitely our boy. He is still the happiest boy I've ever known. Nothing ever gets him down for long. Elizabeth is growing like crazy. She is nearly ten months old now. She is standing and getting around everywhere. She is a smiley girl like her brother. She brings a lot of joy to our lives. I'm enjoying the new friends I have here. I'm playing volleyball every Friday and loving it. I'm also sewing a lot. I have more projects than time, but that keeps me happy. I love to sew more than just about anything. I've found some friends that like to do the same. I'm starting an enrichment group soon for sewing. My most recent project I had to have Jacob's help with. After Christmas we ripped apart our couches and reupholstered them. It was actually pretty easy. We ripped out hundreds and hundreds of staples to get the fabric off. Hundreds is not an exaggeration. I did 2/3 of the little couch by myself and it took five hours to rip out the staples! So far we've used a box and a half of staples to put the new fabric on, and we aren't quite done. (there are 1200 staples per box!) The couches look great though. It's a lot of fun to do new projects and learn new things. Life is fun and we feel blessed to be here.
Love you all,
The little Holts
