We started out April 1st with cereal for breakfast. I snuck food coloring into the bowls under the dry cereal before the kids got their bowls then we poured the milk into the bowls while it was in front of them. When the moved the spoon it made the milk change colors. Jacob totally played it up and was like, "eww...the milk must be rotten!" It creeped Bekah out and it really took her about a half an hour to eat her cereal.
Later we had the missionaries over for dinner, and it was really fun. It totally freaked the elders out! We made sushi, chicken pot pie, cupcakes and juice. We brought the sushi out first and Bekah passed them out. That's when they started to get a clue...hehe. The thought it was pretty funny, and then they realized that the juice was really jello with a straw stuck in it. Oh, and the sushi was really pound cake with fruit rollups wraped around them and then dipped in icing and topped with coconut. Then they started getting wierded out about the food. We brought in the cupcakes and told them that since it was April Fools we have dessert first. One of them said, "Oh, so that's what the jello's all about!" They took their cupcakes and one elder licked the frosting on his and says That is NOT icing. So then the other one is freaking out about it. They were meatloaf cupcakes with colored mashed potatoes on top. They looked like real cupcakes. I brought out the pot pie and it looked real. They were too nervous to eat it and after a while Jacob had me serve some on his plate. They finally got brave enough to eat it after Jacob did, and it was hilarious when they realized that it was really pudding and candies inside. A little while after that Jacob says, "So should we bring out the second course?" To which the missionaries responded with fear. He got out a few pizzas we had hidden in the oven and brought them out in the boxes. The were sure there had to be some trick to that also until we showed them it really was real pizza. We were all laughing through the whole meal. It was a ton of fun! The kids were so funny about it. Joseph wouldn't even touch his cupcake after he licked it the first time because he thought it was just really nasty frosting. When Jacob and one elder finally explained that it was just mashed potatoes and meat he was really excited. The look on his face was pricless! He ate a ton after that. Rebekah wouldn't try the pot pie until I explained when the elders left that it was really pudding and candy, and Lizze wouldn't eat anything but the jello. We will do this again for sure next year. Even the missionaries enjoyed it once they stopped freaking out!
The kids were totally crazy after the missionaries left yesterday and were terrorizing Jacob.

Haha!! I love this!! The pictures really explain a lot. That's awesome that you had the missionaries over to pull it on 'em. The frosting on those cupcakes are great! Wish I could have been over to eat w/ya!
How gross! Those poor missionaries! :) Those mashed potatoes really looked like frosting! We loved the video but Emma wanted to know, "Where's Rebekah?"
