The fourth

Happy after Fourth of July everyone. Hope you all had fun celebrating the freedom of our country. We sure did. We had a low key, and fun filled day on the third. I love being here at Rucker. It's nice and we have great neighbors. You all know how I feel about the weather, so we won't get into that...hehe. Besides, where else besides Alabama (or Florida, Louisiana or Mississippi) can you see this sign? Totally awesome. Sadly, it was $6 for one stick, so we didn't try it. A friend told me later there is a restaurant nearby that serves it. I think we'll have to go before we leave just to say we ate some.

The fireworks were once again great. The kids loved them. Simi got scared at first, but then he was excited. Joseph and Elizabeth both fell asleep DURING the fireworks. How crazy is that? All in all a fun day for everyone.

Our family. I love how the kids are smiling with squinty eyes. This was right before the fireworks went off. We had a picnic and the kids got to run around in the dark. I still have wonderful memories of doing the same thing with my sisters and cousins on the fourth of July, only we would chase the lightning bugs, and they aren't in the fields around here, just the woods.

We had funnel cake. That was the first time any of the kids had ever had any. Yum! I love that stuff! Everything is good fried, right!?

We ate cotton candy, and Simi, as usual, managed to cover his face with it. Then he played in the sand while we were in line for something else and managed to get his sticky hands and face coated with sand also. We're going for the 5 o'clock shadow look here.

We played on the bounce houses. (which were a ridiculous price!)

This is the helicopter that Jacob flies. It's the UH 60 (I think) otherwise known as the blackhawk. He'll be done with training in a month and a half or so. That is so soon!

wow that sounds like a fun and busy fourth. I would put up pictures, but we literally did nothing. it was like a normal sabbath. and the only thing we did on Saturday was go to that breakfast that mom and dad sang at. which of course was amazing, but i don't think it was fun for sam.

Fried alagator? Sick. But I can say much for the Alaskan natives here, they love eskimo icecream. I guess it's whale blubber with berries. Nasty.

When are those kiddos going to get to actually ride in the black hawk with Dad? How awesome is that, Travis is drueling. I've got such a cool brother!

Love the shirts. Did you make them? Was it applique? So cute that you all match.

Our fourth was uneventful. Period. But we did our own little flag ceremony. :) Gotta get those boys ready for being boyscouts. And I sang at church.

We won't get to ride with Jacob any time soon. They use to do that, but then a few people abused the privileged, and now no one is allowed to go up but students. Maybe sometime later when we aren't here at flight school. Jacob loves being able to fly every day. And yes, your brother is totally cool! LOL

I didn't make the shirts. They are from Walmart. Life was too busy for me to make them this year.

So, what did you sing at church?
